Doctors are required to take an oath. The Hippocratic Oath states a physician's number one guiding principal is to "Do No Harm." Preserving life is the foremost duty of a doctor. Sometimes, in order to preserve life, a kidney or appendix or other body part may need to be removed. Many choose to see an unborn infant as even less than this -- simply a blob of unorganized bio-matter. They look at the human fetus similarly as to cancerous tissue, fair-game for removal and disposal. That innocent life is extinguished during the procedure flippantly referred to as abortion. But I submit that abortion is not a "medical procedure" at all...it's an execution performed by so-called professional medical personnel. These are people who have violated their oath to "do no harm." In doing so, they also violate this tiny human's right to life.

For all the arguments that try to make excuse for it, such as in the case of rape or birth defect, this is a very slippery slope. When we start saying that it's okay to abort a life because of where it came from or how deficient it may be, then we're engaging in the same type of logic that Hitler used when he had millions of Jews killed because he viewed them as inferior. The only argument for abortion that even comes close to "making sense" is in the case of saving the life of the mother. Even that isn't ever as cut-and-dry as proponents of abortion would have us believe. Besides, while they use that as an excuse to condone ALL abortions, the percentage of those cases is so minuscule that the argument falls apart.

Truth be told, the vast majority of abortions are done out of purely selfish motivation. It's done for the sake of convenience. The pregnancy was the result of people's lack of responsibility, and having the abortion is just an extension of that same unwillingness to take responsibility. Knowing this thinking wouldn't fly on its own, somebody came up with the idea of a woman's right to choose. But for this "right" to be valid, they had to invalidate any rights possessed by the unborn baby. So they claim it's not really even a life at all before birth, though this claim holds no water whatsoever. Ignoring truth, ignoring innocence, and ignoring anything that would force them to accept responsibility, they hold onto the flawed thinking that promises them "a way out" of the mess they've gotten themselves into. Truly, any choice they had came BEFORE the act which resulted in the conception. Still they claim this bogus right to choose...and they choose death for the child.

To further address the false claim that "the fetus is not really a human life yet," consider the word abortion itself and what it means. Abortion is termination...causing an end to something already in progress. What are we aborting? A pregnancy...the gestation period in which an offspring develops. If the offspring is developing, that means it's growing. If it's growing, that means it's alive. Wait! Huh? Okay, things don't develop and grow unless they're alive...so that must mean...the offspring, or fetus, is indeed a life. So what we're really aborting, or terminating, is a human life. Furthermore, it's an innocent life that we're putting to an end. Last time I checked, that was called murder.

Now after some recent legislation, the US is not only condoning the killing of innocent babies here, but we're also going to finance the same practice in other countries. This is literally an investment in murder. And murder is a bad investment. Think about the mindset that has to exist in order to do this. Just what kind of return on that investment are we expecting? Indeed, those can be deadly returns. And our tax dollars are going to fund this!

Now, wait just a cotton-pickin' minute here! Mr. Obama, you're gonna stand there and tell me that a woman has the right to choose to kill her unborn child, and I don't have the right to choose where my tax dollars go? Oh, I forgot...you don't believe that tax dollars belong to me at all anyway. To you, it's not really my money that I worked hard to make...just like that developing baby inside the womb isn't really a life. Just as the aborted fetus never reached the point of birth (therefore, it's not alive), the money I earned that got taken as taxes never reached my pocket (therefore, it's not mine). What about the taxes I pay when I buy stuff? I guess I've given up my rights to that money in exchange for goods and services, though the tax is really an additional amount the government mandates that I pay. Like the unborn, the money I make is fair-game...it can just be taken and thrown away.

Like I said before, people need to stand up and speak out. We have to hold on to what is right, and resist that we know to be wrong. When our leaders are making these kinds of huge mistakes, they need to be called on the carpet for it. They are misrepresenting their constituents...us. The so-called "silent majority" has been silent for too long. I certainly do not condone blowing up abortion clinics, as this type of act is both illegal and counterproductive to our true cause. But we must take action. Millions of innocent babies have been murdered, and millions more will suffer the same fate if we do nothing.

"What can I do? I can't really make a difference." That kind of thinking never solved anything. You CAN call and write your congressmen. You CAN encourage others to do the same. You CAN let your voice be heard. Or, you can let your belief that "nothing we do changes anything" cause you to just sit by and ignore as countless innocent lives are taken in the name of "Planned Parenthood." Don't let the name fool you...Planned Parenthood is simply a nice sounding name for an institution that believes "unplanned" pregnancies are easily "cured" like a disease through the "medical procedure" of abortion. We have to hold human life in higher regard than these people do. We have to be the advocates for these helpless children who don't possess the ability to fight for their own right to life.

There are those of you who truly want to "save" something...save the forests, save the whales, save the freakin' planet! How 'bout we try to save the lives of the innocent unborn. What point is there in trying to save the planet if we aren't doing anything to save the lives of those who would call it home? Is saving a tree or a sea otter important? Sure, but how much more important should it be to save a human life? With millions upon millions of abortions performed, it is we who have become the endangered species. We are killing ourselves...killing our very futures.

So, call your representatives and senators. Write them emails and/or letters. Talk to your friends about this injustice. Encourage others to do the same. Speak up. Speak out. Speak often. But do SOMETHING. Please don't assume a defeatist mentality and do nothing. Please. I challenge you. I implore you. I beg you. Do what ever you can. Be bold. Be heard. And don't ever give up. The unborn are counting on us. God help us, and God have mercy on our nation and its leaders.
